YouTube Music is a music streaming service developed by YouTube, owned by Google. It was announced on November 12, 2015 and began public beta testing the same day. As of February 2019, the service has 1 million subscribers.
YouTube Music offers ad-free listening for users who have an active subscription to YouTube Red, with access to playlists from channel owners that are also available on both platforms (these include artists not signed to Universal Records as well as some labels operated directly by parent company Alphabet Inc.).
If you want to upload your music to YouTube and make your videos look better, then you will need the right tools, and thankfully, the process is pretty simple. First, you’ll need a YouTube account.
If you don’t already have one, you can create a new account here. Once you have an account, you’ll need to create a channel. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Create a Channel’ button in the left-side bar, or by clicking on the ‘My Channel’ tab at the top of any YouTube page.
Once your channel is up and running, you’ll need to upload some videos. To upload music, you’ll first need to add music files to your computer.
You can do this by clicking on the ‘Add a music file’ button next to the ‘Upload videos’ button on the left-side bar. You can then choose which video to add the music to, and click on the ‘Upload’ button.
Once a track is uploaded to YouTube it becomes available to the whole world. Unlike streaming sites, anyone can access YouTube free of charge.
This provides a platform to share music like no other. With a potential audience of billions, this is an opportunity that every artist should use to their advantage.
How do you upload songs on YouTube then? This is the only tricky part as regular file types are not applicable. YouTube does not recognise .mp3 or .mp4, making things a little more difficult for the regular producer.
Getting around this is easy, and we’ll show you how. After looking at the benefits of uploading music to YouTube we will take you through the stages of uploading
Once your music is uploaded, you’ll need to add it to your video. To do this, simply click on the ‘Music’ tab on the video editor, and select the music file from your computer. You can then choose how you want the music to appear in the video. You can either play it straight from the music file, or you can add it to the video using simple video editing tools.
Finally, you’ll want to make your videos look better. To do this, you can use professional video editing tools, like Adobe Premier or Avid Media Composer. If you don’t have any of these tools, then you can use free tools like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. Once you’ve edited your videos to your liking, you can upload them to your YouTube channel and enjoy your new music videos!
