Music industry has always had a place for upcoming artistes especially in Africa. They represent music genre and thus contribute much towards making soundtracks in Nigerian movies. Most aspiring artists go out there and perform live only to get discovered. Some of these don’t even know how to sing after getting exposed to recording studios. So i decided to write a discussion!
As a young upcoming artist, I believe that I have got everything I need to succeed in a career, but there are some problems that I am facing, and they are quite critical. Firstly, I have been trying to find a good producer and manager for a long time, but I have yet to find him. I have also been trying to find people to be my creative team, but I have not been able to find them, and there is still no success.

Music was created after man developed tools, language skills and cognitive abilities. This enabled him to communicate ideas and thoughts across cultural barriers. Music played an integral role in creating new cultures through religious rituals and celebrations.
During the early days of recorded music, songs were mostly composed during live performances in churches and homes. However, these performances were not popularized until the advent radio and more importantly record player. Radio came into being in 1920 and revolutionized how we consumed audio recordings. Radio became a staple medium amongst households for entertainment purposes. With the rise of portable devices, MP3 players, and smartphones, fans now enjoy listening to song anytime anywhere including car rides, bedtime stories, while exercising etc.
In Nigeria, the biggest problem affecting the upcoming artist is the high rate of unemployment. Most of them are young people who are willing to work for a living but are not sure of what they want to do. Most Nigerian youths are not aware of the opportunities they have. Most people believe that a good job is hard to find.
Nigeria is a developing country with a lot of problems. This means that the problems we have are not always going to be solved. The biggest problem affecting upcoming artist in Nigeria is the problem of being poor. The problem of poverty is very much present in the lives of most young artists in Nigeria. Poverty is a problem that is not going to go away and it is going to affect the lives and careers of upcoming artists in the future. This problem will affect the development of music in Nigeria in a negative way.

As a result, many people are not able to get the skills needed to make a career in the music industry. The government should give more support to these schools so that more people can learn how to make music.

The Nigerian government needs to address these challenges by providing the necessary facilities for the young artists to grow. This will in turn help the young artist to have a better career in the future.
