About Bukunmi Oluwasina Achievement
In July 2013, I had a solo performance in the United States at the World of Dance – a dance competition in Los Angeles. The competition was held at the Microsoft Theater, with 8,000 people coming out and watching the performances. Although I didn’t make it to the finals, it was the highest turnout I have ever had for a competition, even with others at the competition.
But I don’t see this as a challenge because I see every challenge as a chance to learn. All the best performers went on to even higher levels with their passion and dedication to the craft.
I remember when I won the state title in 2013, I was so scared because I thought to myself, ‘What’s going to happen when I face the judges in the national competition?’ I also remember the national finals in 2014, where I was so nervous because it was a competition with people who were already professionals in the industry, with the best dancers in Nigeria.
