Everything you need to know about Avengers: Endgame and Cast
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is extensive, to say the least, and there is a lot of ground to cover in Avengers: Endgame. Most MCU fans will tell any average viewer to watch all prior films before the final installment in order to comprehend all of the context, but understandably so, that is a lot of time and preparation, and some are hesitant to commit to such a big task.
Share All sharing options for: Everything you need to remember about the OG Avengers before Endgame Endgame will see the remaining Avengers try and rescue everyone, after villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) got hold of all the Infinity Stones and wiped out half of all living things with a snap of his fingers in last year’s Movie Infinity War.
Thor: The Dark World – you don’t need to see this to get the gist of the movie Age of Ultron When Endgame’s cinematic release was approaching, viewers everywhere were wondering about a shortcut, or even a cheat sheet of knowledge, in order for them to fully understand the context of the film as a Marvel newcomer. While it would be more beneficial to watch all of the MCU movies, it isn’t entirely necessary to binge-watch all of the films beforehand. However, there are a few major plot points and characters viewers should know about before watching the most anticipated film of 2019.
Captain Marvel – again, watch this if you can but if you’re pushed for time, all you really need to know is that Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) got her powers from the Space Stone (aka the Tesseract) and she’s going to be important to the final battle in Endgame. Also, the man who put together the Avengers – Nick Fury – lost his eye to an alien disguised as a cat.
The Incredible Hulk – you’ll learn all you need to know about the key characters here in Avengers Assemble One thing is for sure though – whatever happens, it will take time for Endgame’s story to unfold. “We knew from the start with ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’ that these two movies were going to be the biggest in terms of security level, that we needed to protect the content,” said executive producer Trinh Tran on the movie “Endgame” special feature.
The first draft of “Endgame” didn’t have the group go back the events of 2012’s “The Avengers.” “Endgame” opens right before Thanos snaps his fingers and wipes out half of all living things in the universe. We see Hawkeye lose his entire family, unaware of what just occurred. If it’s not possible to watch Infinity War first, the whole team take on Thanos to stop his plan to destroy half of the universe, in his own twisted efforts to restore balance. In the process, the whole team up to protect the stones until Thanos gains access to the gems in a twist of events. He begins using the stones against the Avengers by inevitably snapping his fingers and wiping out half of the universe including many heroes. The movie concludes with Thanos sitting, pleased with his actions, and living in pure bliss.
Endgame cast and synopsis
They can, however, expect a slightly smaller cast this time around… or at least we think that’s the case! Because Infinity War ended with the deaths of numerous MCU heroes, the cast in Endgame will likely be more consolidated. The goal this time around seems to be refocusing on the original Avengers roster from the 2012 movie – Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). The trailers place an especially heavy emphasis on Hawkeye, who has traded in his old costumed identity to become the masked vigilante known as Ronin in the comics. (Indeed, by comparison Clint wasn’t even in Infinity War.)
Marvel is being even more secretive than usual with Endgame, to the point where we know surprisingly little about the plot of this latest Movie sequel. Even the official plot summary is less than forthcoming. It reads: “The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the movie ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Endgame.”
Thanos and his army from 2014 fought against almost every superhero that’s ever existed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, something that will be nearly impossible to top in future comic book movies. The only thing that’s really come close since is the blending of Spider-Man universes seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Filming the movie: Endgame’s final battle was a daunting task, but remembering every character on the battlefield is perhaps somewhat daunting as well. So, to help with that dilemma, below is every character who appeared in the movie: Endgame’s final battle.
Here’s every character that appeared in the movie’s final battle. These 36 characters came from various corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they united together in their last stand against Thanos, the Black Order, and an army of Outriders in order to protect Earth and, by proxy, the rest of the universe. As the final installment in Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga, Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Endgame brought back the original six marvel heros for one last mission, and it resulted in quite the journey for them (and for audiences).
This isn’t to say the film won’t also feature some of the newer MCU heroes. The cast will be filled out by other survivors of Thanos’ Decimation, including Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Nebula (Karen Gillan) and War Machine (Don Cheadle), while Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will return to Earth for her first team-up with the Avengers.
Also expect Thanos (Josh Brolin) to again play a big role in the plot, though the exact nature of his role and whether Endgame may feature a different lead villain remains to be seen. You’d think that after Thanos obliterated half of all living beings in the movie: Infinity War, a cast list for the follow-up would be an easy proposition.
